LA Superior Court judges are doing the wrong thing. They decided to deal with a $53 million budget deficit by arbitrarily closing eight courthouses around LA County, which will send justice into chaos, inconvenience people, and cause transportation and other problems.
It's been almost five years since LA County members have had a raise. Bargaining begins June 15th. The Board knows that LA County is mobilized and ready to fight for more jobs, better pay and healthcare for all.
At worksites all over LA County, SEIU 721 members are joining their co-workers during breaks at "rolling rallies" in anticipation for the big Rally for Raises!, Tuesday, April 16, because it's time to tell the Board of Supervisors that we are going to TURN IT UP at the bargaining table in 2013.
On Tuesday, November 27, LA County Board of Supervisors proclaimed November 2012 as Allied Health Professionals Month.
Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas presented the members of SEIU Local 721 Bargaining Units 221/222 Paramedical Technical/Health and 341/342 Health Science Professionals with a scroll in celebration of their dedication to LA County patients and their crucial role in healthcare.
On September 8, 2012, over 200 SEIU Local 721 Stewards came together to celebrate their hard work and dedication to our union. Stewards celebrated with dinner, dancing and an awards ceremony for Stewards with outstanding service, dedication and passion for protecting workers on the job.
